School
lends a helping hand with company logo
Dragonfly Public
Relations practised what it preaches and showed that businesses
can benefit from involvement in educational projects, by asking
pupils at Wentworth C of E Junior School to design its new company
logo.
Marina Wood founded Wentworth-based Dragonfly PR, when she recognised
a gap in the market for a Public Relations company that had the
skills and expertise to promote business involvement in community
and educational activities.
“The children had some really inspirational ideas about how
our logo could look and how it would reflect our qualities of being
bright, dynamic and memorable,” Marina Wood, Dragonfly PR
director explains.
“Much of the work we do involves promoting business involvement
in educational and community activities and it is very rewarding
to see the enthusiasm and creativity of young people applied to
work-related projects.”
Rebecca Burden of Year 3 at Wentworth School produced the winning
design, with Frazer Mason and Steven Sworowski as runners up in
a competition where the standards were so high that many of the
entries will be showcased
on this page.
“We explained to the children how a PR company helps to make
the news that fill their newspapers and magazines and demonstrated
who we put an advert and a press story together,” explains
Marina Wood. “The children quickly grasped what a logo was
and came up with a number of designs for Dragonfly that were colourful
and memorable.”
