Dragonfly PR puts something back into schools

Two of our PR team recently spent time helping students at Fir Vale School in Sheffield to understand why they need to take notice in English classes.

Marina and Stacey were invited by the BiG – Make it Your Business Entrepreneurs Exchange to deliver hour long sessions on the relevance of English taught in class to language used in the workplace.

They also delivered a workshop on “how to write a press release” which gave the pupils the chance to put what they have learnt into practice.

Stacey Morgan, PR Consultant at Dragonfly PR explains: “We have been involved with a number of projects with schools as part of the BiG – Make it Your Business programme and see it as a really good way to give something back into the community. I remember wondering why we had to study some subjects at school myself, so hopefully the presentations we gave the students really brought to life the importance of having a good grasp of written English.”

“The students really seemed to enjoy trying their hand at writing their own press release and who knows, we may have inspired one or two to consider entering the world of PR or media!”
